Imagine a compass on your phone that can find like-minded people nearby to spontaneously connect with?
It’s Saturday night, shift work got cancelled and you have nothing else planned. You feel like you are missing out, like you need some social interaction. Tonight.
With the Grumpy & Wise Compass you input five personal interests, a short bio plus a pic. We are not trying to tell your full story, but rather, just enough info to establish that you are open to chat and setup an easy introductory conversation.
Press ‘search’ and your phone screen will now light up like a night sky. You will see little stars that pulse with different degrees of brightness, the brighter being the higher value matches.
You can adjust your ‘match quality’ rating as you go. Say, you are interested in hockey. You might first look for a direct match, then if not available you might lower your match quality setting to meet someone interested in ice hockey or any sport. This lower grade match will show on screen as a dimmer star.
In your Compass settings you may have up to 5 different personas, for example: your music self, your sporty self, your academic self, your family self and your spiritual self. You may identify nearby someone that you would like to chat with but, while displaying your sports persona you may get a low ‘match’ rating.
As you switch to your ‘music persona’ you may find that they are passionate about opera music just like you. Now you have a high level match with a greater chance of them being excited that you both have something in common to chat about.
Alternatively, you can choose a targeted search like looking for a lead guitarist for a heavy metal band or, a volunteer to help your mum while your away travelling. Here you may find no immediate match results today but if someone comes into your search radius next week or next month, then you will get a notification. You set the timeline.
The Compass has much more functionality including the coordination of volunteering efforts, tracking your nearest natural food producer and rubbish recycle matchmaking, to name but a few. Also we have ‘clubs’ functionality and and premium business and CV membership.
In todays connected world we are generally bombarded by promotion and advertising that is screaming for our attention. You may have to view a 100 pieces of distracting content to find one item that interests you.
This Grumpy & Wise Compass is using the latest new technologies to work for you, to find what you want rather that being used to sell you what you don’t need. There is no algorithm other than the ones you dream up to find who and what you want.
You know what you are interested in, and what areas you would like to expand into in the future. You now can take back control and your endless addictive scrolling time.
There is no data collecting or mining, it’s all on your phone. You don’t need a phone number, or email, just a personal url. You can switch between profiles in an instant in response to your environment.
